It's mid-January.

Which means your inbox is probably drowning in "NEW YEAR NEW YOU" energy right now…

  • Try new tactics

  • Build new funnels

  • Post more content

  • Learn AI

  • Master LinkedIn

  • Launch a course

  • Start a newsletter...

The urge to try and fix EVERYTHING at once is real.

Especially when you're staring down another year wondering if THIS is finally gonna be the one where you break through…

And that's exactly why you're gonna fail.

Because you're trying to fix too many things at once →

And when you try to fix everything...you fix nothing.

I know it sounds counterintuitive, which is why most freelancers get this wrong…

Your revenue only grows when ONE of three levers changes:

  1. Lead Flow - How many people are finding you

  2. Conversion - How many conversations become money

  3. Deal Size - How much each client is worth

Every tactic you've ever heard about is just an attempt to pull one of these levers.

Posting more content = Lead flow.

Refining your pitch = Conversion.

Raising your rates = Deal size.

And the ONLY question that matters is:

Which one is currently choking your revenue?

I work with 100s of freelancers every week, and most of them are pulling the WRONG lever…

Freelancers with a conversion problem are spending all their time on lead gen.

Freelancers with a deal size problem are obsessing over their Instagram strategy.

Freelancers with a lead flow problem are rewriting their sales script for the 47th time.

It's like trying to fix a burst pipe by redecorating the bathroom.

You're working on the wrong thing.

So before you go all in on some 47-point plan to dominate 2026...

I want you to do something way simpler.

Figure out which lever is broken.

Start with just ONE.

Because once you know THAT, the path becomes obvious.

And then you stop guessing and trying to do everything at once.

You just fix the one thing that's actually limiting your revenue.

And then everything else gets easier.

So ask yourself these 3 questions:

  1. Lead Flow: Do I know where my next 10 clients are coming from? Do I have a system that generates demand consistently, or am I just hoping referrals keep coming?

  2. Conversion: When I talk to leads, do they hire me? Or do they say "sounds good, let's revisit this later" and then ghost?

  3. Deal Size: Am I making enough per client to actually hit my goal? Or do I need to stack too many clients to get there?

Whichever one makes you go "oh shit, THAT'S the problem," that's your lever.

That's the ONLY thing you should be fixing for the next 12 weeks.

And look, I know this sounds almost too simple.

But that's the point →

The freelancers who hit $100K in 2026 won't be the ones who tried the most tactics.

They'll be the ones who identified their bottleneck and went all in on fixing it.

And that's it.

That's the whole game.

And if you want help actually diagnosing which lever is broken in your business (and building the system to fix it)...

That's what we do inside The Freelancing Programcheck it out here

And let's make 2026 the year you stop guessing.

Best,
Jamie
