If September was a slow month, keep reading →

The problem:

You need a cash injection FAST and have few (if any) warm leads.

The benefit of solving it:

Warm leads ready to say YES to what you offer, with minimal effort on your part.

Why what you’ve tried has failed:

You go to job platforms (like Upwork or Fiverr) or social media hoping to quickly find a new client to work with (not unheard of, but unlikely!).

Here’s how to solve it:

There are 2 ways I recommend for getting new business quickly.

#1 - Ask for referrals from previous clients.

# 2 - Solve new problems for previous clients.

Both methods involve reaching out to previous clients because you already have trust and credibility with them.

Building that rapport with new potential clients takes TIME, making previous clients a no-brainer to reach out to.

And when you need to pay rent in 2 weeks, you don’t have time to take someone from cold to warm.

Let’s dig into each a little more →

#1 - Asking for referrals.

Humans are social creatures, and if we know others have benefitted from a product or a service, we’re more likely to try it ourselves.

So when a satisfied client refers you to someone they know, it comes with an inherent trust and credibility in your offer.

And prospective clients are much more likely to choose your services when they hear positive experiences from people they already know and trust.

So reach out to some of your most recent clients (that you’ve already provided value to) with a well-crafted email that they can easily forward to potential prospects.

By doing this you can control the information that’s being shared and you can highlight your best results to showcase your expertise.

While asking for referrals is a great method, you can’t MAKE the client forward your email.

So if you need to take a little more control of the situation, here is a great alternative…

#2 - New offers.

Again, when you reach out to previous clients, you already have trust and rapport with them.

You’ve already provided them with results and proven you’re worth the investment.

So when you reach out to solve another problem that you know they have, the odds are in your favor.

You’ve already seen inside their business, you know what they need help with, and where you could bring your expertise to help them, which is a HUGE advantage when it comes to pitching another service.

Don't assume that past clients are sitting around thinking of new ways to work with you, you need to be proactive and show them the next steps.

Design a journey for each customer from project to project that allows the two of you to grow together, and you’ll never panic about where you can get a quick pay day again!

Best,
Jamie
